There is nothing like seeing your three year olds eyes light up as he takes in the surroundings of Disney World. It really is a magical place not just for kids but also for us old folks. One of my favorite parts of the trip was at MGM Studios when Will got to meet the Power Rangers. In the past six months or so, we've watched him transition away from playing with things that have to do with Dora, the Little People, and Sesame Street. Now, his playing revolves around constant warfare with the forces of good (Power Rangers) slugging it out with the forces of evil (the bad guys). He is actually a bit eaten up with it, as is evidence from the bruise he gave me the other day from a swift Turbo Kick to the shin.
This transition has been fun to watch because it reaffirms to me what God has written on our hearts. When we are born, God wrote on our heart that there is constant battle between good and evil. What's really neat is the fact that he put a special stamp on the heart of boys that calls them out to be heroes, warriors, and most of all, the desire to come through.
When the Power Rangers showed up to put on their show, Will wanted to meet his favorite: The Red SPD Ranger. We waited in line and watched the show they put on and then it was time to meet and get an autograph. Will timidly stepped up to the Ranger, got an autograph, and the Ranger put him in the following pose.
As the picture shows, Will was a bit timid about the whole experience. In fact, he almost didn't pose with the Ranger. This worried me because I wanted him to interact with them and not be afraid of them.
Next, we moved on to the Green Ranger. Will was a bit more open to the posing as the picture shows. But, he still seemed a bit shy, even though he held his arms out.
After Green, we moved on to White. By now, I could feel the excitement building in Will. After a quick autograph, Will didn't need help posing and he immediately went into a fighting stance as is shown here.
Last but not least, the Pink Ranger! By this time, Will was flying high and ready to show off. Without even an autograph, he immediately dropped into a fighting stance and we snapped the picture.
Old Dad couldn't pass up the chance to enjoy this moment with my son. So, as you can see, I jumped in!
When all was said and done, we strolled off with one happy kid that now wants nothing more than to be a Power Ranger when he grows up. Go for it Kid!

Seriously, great pics - loved the transition over the pics as Will got more and more into it. Very cute.
