Ode to Slacking Off

I've been slacking lately. Not in life, just in blogging. Lately, life has thrown me a few curve balls that I've had to hack away at, leaving little time to devote to posting to my blog. Sure, I've thought about posting, and even been prompted to do so, but dropped the ball and didn't do it. I guess this is the slack in my blogging career.

What is slack? Slack is defined by the Oxford Dictionary as:

Not taut, inactive or sluggish, negligent or remiss, neither ebbing nor flowing.

Lately, God has pointed out to me that I have a long way to go in this brief means of existence. First of all, there is my family that needs my attention, love, and most of all leadership as the Priest of our Home. I'll be the first to admit that I have been rather inactive and even the word negligent could go there. And that's a biggy to mess up. So lately, I've put a higher priority on my leading my family the way God would have me do it.

Another area that I've slacked is in my job. The Bible tells us to work at our job as we would work for the Lord! WOW!!! Many times we become complacent in our jobs, and even take them too lightly and get to the point where we are at a standstill (neither ebbing nor flowing). When this occurs, it's not time for a vacation away from the place, it's time to get with God and ask Him to breath fresh wind into you and give you a new wisdom in your job.

One area I have been diligent in lately, and probably my primary reason for posting less on my blog, is the fact that I am developing something big that I hope go live with in February. I'm not going into much detail now, but this has sprung from God leading me down a path that I've never asked to go down, but have allowed him to steer my creative nature to make something for Him that can be used by all Christians around the world. I've put in a ton of time on this project and pray for it's future launch.

With that said, I don't guess I've stopped working for the Lord after all. BUT... I've slacked in a few of the more important areas of my life. Time to tighten up.
