There's something about Private Clubs that intrigues me. It's probably because the only one I have ever belonged to is the local swim club. But don't get pictures of serious swimmers in Spedos and goggles taking lap after lap. No, this swim club is just a pool we take our kid too. However, it is a private club that only paid members can enter.
It's funny when you think about private clubs and how they go to extremes to keep out people that have not met their requirements. I've been to several places (especially at the beach) where you could not enter unless you had the proper credentials of membership. It may be something as simple as your room key, or as elaborate as a badge of some type. But whatever it is, it sets you apart from everyone else and allows your entry into a private world. Thinking back on my experience with these place, I've been turned away a few times and I remember very well, being kicked out of one. Each time, I left feeling exactly like what I was, an outcast.
Have you ever felt like an outcast or an outsider in this world? Maybe you feel like you just don't belong. Or, maybe you just feel alone, even though you are surrounded on all sides with people going through the quick pace of life, excluding all others. What I'm asking is this: Do you ever feel like you are missing out on something but you just can't put your finger on the emptiness you feel? If this is you, there is a private club that is open to you for membership. As a matter of fact, your application for membership in this club has already been approved, and even better, your tuition for lifetime membership has been paid too!
So, what's the hook? There is no hook, only a cross, an empty tomb, and a risen savior that paid your membership in His club with His blood sacrifice. All He asks is that you accept Him into your heart, believe in Him, and try to become more like Him. His club is and has always been BYOBV (Bring Your Own Broken Vessel) so He can fill it with His mercy and Grace. Why not join today?
